The Food and Drug Administration said it has received complaints from patients in the United States who have suffered an adverse reaction from Viagra in the past year.
The FDA said it found that patients were taking sildenafil, a drug used to treat heart conditions, and they were taking tadalafil (Cialis) to treat high blood pressure. The drug is also used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
Viagra is the brand name of the drug, Viagra Connect. The FDA said it will issue a black box warning about the increased risk of serious adverse reactions in men taking sildenafil and tadalafil.
